Call for Artists: Reactionary

At this moment where the focus of the nation is on the decisions being made by our government, reactions and emotions are running high. Here at the Art Gallery, we'd like to take this time to open our space and make it a sanctuary for the students, staff and faculty of South Seattle college; providing an outlet for those who have been affected and may feel like they're alone during a time of drastic and frequent change. Let’s create a safe space for the South community and use art as a forum to express your stance and feelings on the global situations at hand.

What we're looking for: visual arts and written works (poetry, short stories, lyrics, etc) depicting your reactions and feelings toward the current political climate.

Details: The show will run from April 3rd through April 28th, works must be dropped off by March 24th.

Open Mic: We will also be hosting an open mic during our reception in association with the Cultural and Gender Equity Centers. This is a chance for you to perform your pieces and allow for contributions through performance based arts. These performances will be recorded and on view in the gallery space during the exhibition.

Eligibility: All Students, Staff and Faculty of SSC.
