Current
leaders say student government provides experiential learning and has expanded
their skills in many areas including advocacy, organizing,
communications, critical thinking, goal setting, meeting facilitation,
teamwork, managing time, public speaking and budget analysis. Other
benefits include attending local and regional leadership conferences,
retreats, training, and networking opportunities with staff, faculty,
administration, and community leaders.
